MSHP: Savannah man charged after wreck


JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a 28-year-old Savannah man faces multiple charges after a wreck.

The Patrol says Donald Cipes driving a 2011 Ford Focus on County Road 352, just east of the I-29 and 59 Highway exchange three miles north of St. Joseph.

Cipes drove the vehicle off the road several times before striking a store and tractor trailer in the store's parking lot. Cipes suffered moderate injuries while a passenger, 25-year-old Brenna Hostetler of Maryville, suffered serious injuries.

Both weren't wearing a seat belt and were taken to Mosaic Life Care in Saint Joseph. Cipes has been charged with misdemeanor DWI, driving while suspended, careless driving, and for not wearing a seat belt.
